Life n its Lessons

Different people have different perception. One man’s meat could be another man’s poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home, a boy commented, “Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on
the donkey? “Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, “The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?” Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.

Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, “How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman.” The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey.
Then, they met a young man. He commented, “Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you.” Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey
and carried it on their shoulders.

It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.

Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if your conscience is clear..

I have been meeting tons of friends over the past few months .. Some i have not seen in a decade some a few months and of course the regular entourage..

A few days back i was out with some folks i have not seen in 12 years and we had a blast. Some of them were not that close to me 12 years back. However we acknowledged each other in those days. This meeting was different.. even though we were never that close we seemed to be the best of buddies that night.. There were tons of other people who were hanging out with us and could not relate to our conversations but yet we went on being in a world of our own…it was like we were back in school..

Yes i relived memories that night …

A few weeks back a friend called me up to invite me to his wedding .. i have not even spoken to this guy in years and nor were we that close in college

i have also tried to reach out to some of my closest buddies in school .. And i have not heard back from them

Made tons of friends over the years post school .. some of the relations still stand firm till date .. some faded off with time and some had a bumpy end..

And as the years pass by…good people and friends are hard to come by…

When i look back at time to what i can remember .. and look at where i stand now

Someone who was acquittance a decade back .. seemed to be like a brother from another mother
Someone who was a good friend decade back … seemed to be like a stranger

Well people grow up … Priorities change .. Outlook Changes

Understood and Given …

But where did the innocence go ? i don’t recollect being friends with someone cause of the way the look or dress or how deep pockets they had..

Back then it was just so simple … Who Set the Criteria anyways over the years ? Did you with the influence of life ?

How did one make friends with no criteria ? Filter them 10 years down based on a criteria

A friend of mine said people grow up and know the difference between right and wrong.. Well i give it to him there that may happen in one off cases if there is something at all to judge about an individual

But i still seek an conclusion to my thought .. If anyone has a view i would love to hear about it

But One can never make the other … Love, Care or Share

Why ? Well cause the sky is high

Its Human nature…..The better one understands it ..
A thought of rationality settles in answering questions as stated above

Somethings you like to do … Somethings you have to do…

Its a situation everyone of us deals with in everyday life .. Some resist the temptation or desire while some give into the temptation or desire.

i mean sure i would like to get a nice log cabin in the swiss alps … But then i still have duties towards my family which i need to fulfill

Sure i would like to save a ton for a rainy day and my future .. But then i also want a pimped up ride ….

Sure i want to date that hot chic who keeps asking me out ? But then i also need some substance in an individual …

Such are the choices in life … No harm to give in to temptation or desire so long as it doesn’t kill you or leave your life in shackles.. Each situation has two choices .. Somethings you like to do .. and Something you have to do

The Difference between “like” and “have” is as wide as logical and illogical or responsible or irresponsible … its just that the words “like” and “have” are conventional words used in everyday conversations that we as humans tend to forget… The meaning of words can change in context of a sentence…

Realization ?

Maybe … Maybe not … Thinking of ending this here … but my thoughts lead on …

The day one realizes on what ground he or she stands on … maybe he or she would be able to navigate thru this mine field with smarter moves and a healthy balance which may not give you a big smile in life … but would definitely let life pass by with a sense of contentment and end with a sense of self satisfactory achievement.

Why only contentment ? Well as a wise man once thought me to always use a conservative approach in life and so far it works just perfect

The Good Life starts .. When you stop wanting to have a better one

Innocence is a sight not seen too often… I mean sure it exists in tiny pockets at every corner .. But yet in most cases misses the naked eye. I have never ever seen an individual who has not borne a smile in the presence of innocence..

I was out this evening getting my bike washed .. considering that i have not been riding it too often due to a bad back.. it was getting pretty dusty

As i stood there on a street corner smoking a cigarette.. My wandering eyes caught a sight of innocence at its best. I just could not stop smiling

i saw a small pup … playing with his mother right near the highway (Freeway).. As he would jump around to bite his mom .. bark and try and chase his tail.. Little did he know a few wrong moves and he could very well be under the tires of a car .. But yet without realizing what danger was around him .. he seemed to have a jolly time..

if your lucky maybe sometimes in a lifetime will you come across innocence in its most pure form .. Observe .. Learn and Cherish those memories ..For it teaches one a valuable lesson ” The Goodness of Life”

Creativity is a gift given to many of us… To embrace it or no is solely a choice of an individual.. Each one of us has a special gift. Discovery of ones soul leads to the discovery of ones true talent … I am not sure how many of you would agree with my thoughts. But its strong belief which stands unless proven otherwise by a like minded individual..

Some of us discover these talents .. Some of us are just so caught up with the day to day outside world.. That we forget a smaller world which exists in ones heart needs some attention too…

Look within yourself .. You might see a color never seen before .. Or maybe a scene almost as majestic as the swiss alps at the dawn of spring … Maybe a smile which puts the monalisa to shame … Possiblites seem to be almost limitless

Its a colorful world filled with black and white souls … Add some radiance to yours like many have .. and maybe you have a chance to stand out like a rainbow does on a rain filled sunny day..

Out of all my crazy thoughts this one by far is the most scariest or at least gets one thinking …

I remember sitting across the table with a friend of mine talking about how time flew by and now that he is 30 and i am 26 … Half our lifes have almost passed us by…

He Said ” I want to call it quits by the time i am 60.. don’t wanna live post that”
it triggered a thought in my mind … thought i’d bust his chops

Me: So your 30 … You think you have another 30 years left to live your life …
Him : Yes
Me: Ah… “with a evil smile”
Me: hey did this thought every occur to you that 30 years flew by so quick cause you were sleeping for 15 out of the 30
and you would do the same for the remainder 30.. So technically .. you only have 15 years left to live
Him: Looking at me stunned he said ” You got me thinking there buddy .. its a scary thought.. Just when i was thinking i have enough time to live my life”

Never told him this … but it was a scary thought for me too which i happened to put off as a joke ..

Think about it … i know i did that night

A Long time ago i started … I didn’t know which direction my life was heading but to my luck things worked out just fine….

I was out for a meeting at The Grand Maratha. Was supposed to clear some doubts a team member had and was attempting to retaining a co-worker.. As i cleared his doubts and a lighter conversation took over. He asked me so whats going on with arculex….

Arculex is a platform i am working on which would bring a very unique business model to the indian market.. However its still on the drawing board i have been too lazy to get the initial concept drafts outs.

I told him i was working on it and i would get it to him soon.. Then he told me something which made my head tinker … “Success Begins with a Start”

i gave him a smile and said “soon”

As i sat there having random conversations.. Sipping on some wine i began thinking .. The only reason i am where i am today is cause i started working towards it … success followed after countless hours of burning the mid night oil.. So success indeed does begin with a start

My advise to my friends who were starting off in their careers and were in a state of confusion has always been .. At Least Start you never know how many doors open down the line after you open the first one..

Was this something i forgot down the years ? Maybe i did ….

To win or lose a Toss .. One needs to Flip a coin first and then Choose..Similarly to succeed or to fail in anything one does in his lifetime… One needs to start somewhere

My memories as i get older are getting a little hazy about my childhood and school days. Thought i would remember my childhood days till the end of time… After all a human mind can only store so much …

I studied in a convent school..  I feel it gives one experience with the general population that helps you be street smart as one grows up…

I don’t remember the days but we had two classes every week of “Morals” … Yes “Morals”

No one ever took it serious .. it was a class we looked forward to as we did not need to study for it … Algebra can get to your nerves and Geometry can drive you nuts .. But Morals well it was a class i was at peace with .. I don’t remember much of the morals i was taught but i do remember this chapter which Preached to “Forgive and Forget” Keep no hatred or thought of revenge in your heart for it will only deviate you from the goodness of life ..

Well over the years as a grew up for some strange reason i could never forget those words … its almost as if they left a ever lasting impression on my outlook.. An Impression that till date stands firm

And if you do give it a thought .. Those words are so true …

People will do hurtful or bad things to or for you… And there is no count to how many times this may occur at every junction of your life … If you were to hold a grudge and keep it in your heart against them .. How many would you be able to store without showing a stain on your soul ?

I don’t know if heaven or hell exists
I don’t know if a judgment day exists after death
i don’t know if people pay the dues for the sins they commit in this life or the other

But i do know a individual is known by his or her deeds … Reasons behind the deeds hold no water

When one comes to a blissful understanding in life that you and you alone are responsible for your actions, words and deeds in life maybe it might help you be a better human being …
