An Interesting Story

One day I hopped  in  a  taxi  and we took off for the airport. We were 
driving  in  the  right  lane  when suddenly  a black car jumped out of a 
parking  space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, 
skidded  and  missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other 
car whipped his head around and started Yelling at us. My taxi driver just 
smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly. So I asked, “Why did you just do that? That guy almost ruined your car and 
sent us to the hospital!”

That  is  when  my  taxi driver taught me what I now call, “Law of the 
Garbage Truck.”

He  explained  that  many  people are like garbage trucks. They run around 
Full  of  garbage,  full  of  frustration,  full  of  anger,  and  full of 
disappointment.  As  their  garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it 
and  sometimes  they  dump  it  on  you. Don’t take it personally. Just 
smile,  wave,  wish  them  well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and 
spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.The  bottom  line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take 
over  their  day. Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, 
So…..

“Love the people who treat you right. Wish well for the ones who don’t..”

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

I often hear from people that they are depressed .. but don’t know what they are depressed about.. i have been there in the past and its funny now that i look back at it .. the answer is so simple.. just needs some soul searching..

When you have multiple things playing at the back of your mind .. and your heart is depressed about one .. Your mind will have a hard time concluding what really is bothering you..

Ask the divine source within … don’t rationalize with your mind .. the mind knows no better in matters of the spirit…

They say we leave behind …not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others…

I am not sure what i wove into peoples lives .. but i know many who have woven into mine .. Days have been long lately .. Get home exhausted from work and all this moving around is not helping either .. adding fuel to fire my lower back is giving up again ..

I got home today and made myself a drink as i was sitting on the front porch and sipping it i could see the lightening break in the sky … it sent me down memory lane

As a child i loved the rains and 22 years later i still love every bit of it… i remember standing near the window and the seeing the lightening in the sky ….my older brother telling me .. say cheese .. god is clicking your picture…

As the second bolt of lightening ripped zipped thru the sky .. i said “Cheese”.. Almost asif i could hear my brothers voice echo .. felt like a child again ..

Sat moved out to bangalore when i was 12 .. so i grew up since then pretty much without a brother .. he got married…had kids .. got busy with his life i guess .. as the years passed by we pretty much lost touch.. there were times where i would speak to him once a year .. even now i can count on my fingers how many times do we actually speak in a year …

So what really happened … ? I guess he grew up .. and so did i

He is 38 now and i am 27 .. But if you ask me my family and a select few friends will be the best link to my past and most likely in the near future..

i miss the jackass at times .. but i guess this was the way it was meant to be .

They say the Phoenix was a mythical bird …At the end of its life cycle it would ignite itself and burn to ashes..From which a new, young phoenix arises ..The bird was also said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being almost immortal and invincible - a symbol of fire and divinity.

This week just zipped by .. i guess living life in the fast lane does make you forget time .. before i know it 2008 will pass by too ..

This year started off with a bang but fizzled out quickly … and i dug myself a pretty nice hole to get into …I guess not everything goes your way .. it only takes one royal boot for life to find its abstract form

Considering i couldn’t afford a third strike out …i put a method into play … its called PEP

But the key here is to plan and then apply PEP to it .. The secret of success is purpose.. and every plan has a purpose

In a perfect world i would love to apply it to all aspects of my life .. but its not a perfect world now is it

P = Patience
E = Effort
P = Perciverence

Why Patience ?

Well there are things you can help right now and then there are things you can’t everything has its own time and place .. so even if you need to sit it out for a while its fine..it makes more sense to put your energy into something when all factors seem to support the cause else its effort is futile..

Why Effort ?

Beyond the mountains there are mountains again… But if you don’t put an effort in to climbing the first mountain you will never know whats beyond.. Everything that needs done .. needs an effort..

Why Perciverence ?

Well with time i have learnt that if you believe in something or you need something done…Perciverence is the key.. Its but natural to fail.. but when you keep trying you will get there someday or the other… Even if you don’t.. the satisfaction of you trying helps you walk way in complete peace with yourself..

Belief in yourself and the application of Patience, Effort and Perseverance in everyday life has a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.

Unless you want them to stay..

They say a smart man learns from his mistakes …. and a smarter one learns from mistakes other men make.. would never know where i would fit in ..

Having noticed definitions of our mistakes and the way we term them differ .. i am under the belief that it needs a great deal of thought before terming an event or an action as a mistake..If one questions my rational behind it .. i would find it difficult to find the right words to express it ….

But if one asks me about the variables and what i mean by them the answer is simple

Events or Actions in situations or with people tend to derive different results each time … and if they do what would you term a mistake and what would you consider your luck .. ?  Thus Situations or People are the variables .. So do you really term something as a mistake and not do it again ? or ..do you give it another shot ?

Well its a question only you can answer best for yourself…

Now if someone asks me that i jumped off the 5th floor of a building and did not die .. is it ok to jump off a cliff .. Well i would do a good deed and shoot him myself…

Living life to the full or Leaving out aspects of your life .. cause you had a bad run once or twice …is a choice each one makes ..

An individual’s past is always the estranged truth .. that another might find difficult to make peace with..

Our Persistent antagonism can often alienate our closest… its only human nature to despise what does not fit into our paradigm of moral judgments….

William Shakespeare … Once wrote

“I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones,
So let it be with Caesar …”

Although like an arrow that pierces the heart…. Bury the past and praise the future.. that is the only route to salvation of a life that craves happiness..

Its  funny feeling when you get to know what opinion people have about you .. i remember my mother telling me a few weeks back .. You are too nice to people and that is your biggest weakness … So much like your dad ..

I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree

I was sitting this evening and watching a movie when this mail poped up out of no where …i am sure the person who rated kindness as my weakness … obviously knows me better then i thought they did

Its not very often that something makes me smile from within… Thank you though

Maybe its the universe’s way of saying lighten up …

I always wondered why i like keeping a low profile out of the limelight … no matter how much i pondered over it .. i never seemed to reach a conclusion…  till i was driving to bandra a fine evening back in time…some moron decided to switch on his high beam and fog lights ..  as i drove past him the lights blinded me for a moment.. i slowed down and parked the car at a corner .. rubbed my eyes till i could see well again ..

The thought of being blinded freaked me out for a moment .. i am not the kind who likes walking into the abyss every now and then…. an occasional stroll works just fine for my sense of adventure..

As i reached my destination at reclamation i pulled the car to the usual spot and waited for a friend to arrive …. The sky was cloudy but it had a strange yellow hue to it with the rays of the setting sun.. the wind blew gently and the waters calm … its the kind of thing that makes you realize the goodness of life …

i sat there on the bonnet of my car pondering with my thoughts .. thinking about the events i have been a part of over the past few days … and the conversations .. some sane but mostly insane .. Till a thought flew by me …When one gets too much attention from another .. or when too much glamour is showered upon one … it tends to blind you .. very similar to the event that occurred with me on the way to bandra … its only human nature to take things for granted .. its a good thing to always stop and re evaluate the world around you .. you never know who you might just be walking over ..
